PRINCE OF PERSIA relying on TWO strikes

Prince of PersiaIf we are to see a PRINCE OF PERSIA movie next year, it’s going to rely on the fate of TWO Hollywood strikes. First of all as we speculated a while back, Disney have not turned in their script for the feature as it’s no where near finished and with the WGA strike, they haven’t been able to work on it and nor will they be able to until a deal is reached.

This may not be for months and months.

When the strike is finally resolved, work will hastly begin on the script and production will need to begin almost immediately as they will only have till the end of June to complete filming, or at the very least before it’s shut down for several weeks because of the actor’s strike.

And of course they need to find a leading man and the rest of the cast before then.

HARRY POTTER and DONNIE BRASCO director Mike Newell will helm the feature for Disney which is far more assuring than when Michael Bay’s name was floating around the project.

Love the early video games of this character and I’ve said for so long that this could be a new franchise in the mould of the SINBAD movies.

Just don’t rush it! If you haven’t got enough time to put this together then delay it, work on another NATIONAL TREASURE movie if you need a cash-cow.

Rushing out a Prince of Persia movie is in no one’s interest. It’d be best to develop this gradually over time to make sure that it’s realised as something really special, rather than just a hasty hack-job.
