A real eye catching poster has turned up online for the Oliver Stone directed biopic of George Bush which really succeeds in painting the movie as being a very stripped down and personal look at the much maligned President of the United States.
I really like this poster which along with the previously leaked trailer, is really doing a good job of promoting this picture.
I also really Josh Brolin in this role, though I will admit I was watching Thomas Haden Church in the pretty dire Smart People the other day and I kinda saw him more fitted to the role but Brolin will be great, I’m sure.
Really great.
And another thing I’m wondering, is Stone capable of delivering a movie where we actually care what happens to George Bush? I know this is going the satire/comedy route and is basically an attack on Bush, but will there be any sympathetic light cast on him at all?
Will we be able to buy it if there is?
Guess we will find out October 17th.

I really can’t make my mind up on this picture. It’s easy to bash Bush, and to be fair, I’d happily join that queue to have a pop, so I’m hoping that Stone is going to do something a little bit more. I worry however, that any telling of the tale that is overly sympathetic on Bush might have a detrimental effect on the American publics view of the Republican/Democrat race, and damgage Obama’s chances in the polls.
In my eyes, this has to be as scathing and brutal as it can get.
You raise a really good point Brucey. It will indeed be interesting to see how this film bears on the election race and what effect it’ll have on the candidates.
I really hope it doesn’t damage Obama’s chances. Then again, maybe we’re placing to much significance on this movie. Will people actually want to go and see it?
