I haven’t seen so much negative anticipation for a Pixar movie ever, I mean there was those that thought CARS was going to suck (which it did) but I don’t think it was as overwhelming as the current worried reaction for UP.
I think the problem is that no-one quite knows what the hell the movie is about or how it is going to play out. And posters as obscure as this one released today at Yahoo Movies, don’t really help matters…
Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.) and co-director Bob Peterson’s comedic adventure revolves around the friendship between a lonely 78 year old man and a young 8 year old explorer who take on a thrilling and dangerous journey, said to involve “wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures”.
The movie opens on May 29th and the extended trailer will either be attached with BOLT in November, or next week’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3.

I’m sure the trailers will clear up everything about the movie’s plot. For me, Wall-E looked terrible from the previews but turned out to be great while the apparently more easily accessible Cars wasn’t very good.
I’m just concerned that it has the same title as a Russ Meyer movie – I can’t wait for the reactions from clueless parents who try ordering this on DVD and end up with softcore porn comedy by mistake :)
