United Artists are suffering because of the strike too.
Just after the news that Sony’s ANGELS & DEMONS had been delayed because of the strike, comes word that Oliver Stone’s next production PINKVILLE will suffer the same fate because the script is simply not in shooting condition.
The movie which was to star Bruce Willis as Army Gen. William R. Peers, the real life guy who supervised the investigation into the massacre by U.S. soldiers of as many as 500 My Lai villagers, most of them unarmed women, children and elderly… now has no firm start date.
Willis, screenwriter Mikko Allane and Oliver Stone himself were all in favour of the decision leading us to believe that once the strike is over and the project gets off the ground again, they will all be involved. Though the delay could put in jeopardy the castings of the supporting players… Channing Tatum, Woody Harrelson, Michael Pena, Michael Pitt, Toby Jones, Xzibit and Jon Bernthal.
Usually I’m not one to anticipate an Oliver Stone movie but I did like the sound of this one. I am a fan of PLATOON and this movie was to see Stone work in the same kind of area and I was damn sure interested to see what Bruce Willis would be like in a Stone movie. Guess we are going to have to wait a little longer to find that out.
