Peter Jackson who frequently works on projects that he has grown up with and loved (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) has signed on to produce a remake of The Dam Busters, a movie he has held a long time affection for.

“The film — retitled Dambusters for our slick, streamlined times — will be directed by long-time Jackson collaborator Christian Rivers, and the pair have already done extensive research for the project, including trips to England to interview the squadron’s surviving pilots, and Germany to visit the rebuilt dams”.
I’ll say it again… remakes in the hands of talented people CAN be a good thing, and I have no reason to doubt this will be the case for this movie. But like with Halo, I’m desperate to see Jackson DIRECT a movie with as big a scale as this rather than producing it.
