PARIS actress Melanie Laurent heading back to Paris with Quentin?

Quentin Tarantino may have finally cast his third big lead for INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.

According to a French website I’m unfamiliar of (translated link), Paris born actress Melanie Laurent has joined the Universal WW-II picture, her first Hollywood production. She will play the strong willed French Jew Shossana, who has a massive part in the picture and who I envisaged as a Audrey Tautou- type from A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT.

But talk about type casting, something I am quick to voice my disgust at myself. Anyway, I dunno if the source is a gossip site or not but the word is this pretty face will be in the picture…

There was a French drama that got some run in U.K. cinema’s this Summer, ironically enough titled PARIS and she was great in that.

Very memorable, with the most seductive eyes. She is a prime example of why I adore French women so much. She would melt any guy to their knees instantly and has a vulnerability but also a determined strength beneath those eyes which at times can make her look beyond her years.

She is perfect for the role of Shossana.

Things have been quiet for this movie for a few weeks now, Tarantino must be having some trouble filling out his last few parts before filming begins next month in Germany and France. There is still some pivotal roles left to be cast for this film though… not least Hitler and Churchill!

  1. Some very interesting cast choices for this film. I’m excited to see filming get underway.

On a different note, why the change back to this format? The last look was pretty much perfect. At least give us a navigation on the side with the most recent headlines so we can see what’s new right off the bat.
