I love those guys at Latino Review. Another one of their scoops from a while back has been confirmed today (Vaughn replacing Farino in the director’s chair for What Happens in Vegas) which Variety have only just picked up.
So we’re going to run their two latest exclusives…
The guys are reporting that Oliver Stone is to tackle Vietnam again with Pinkville, a movie about the My Lai massacre in Vietnam. Boy does this sound like typical Oliver Stone fodder…
The My Lai Massacre, was the massacre of hundreds of unarmed Vietnamese civilians, mostly women and children, by U.S. soldiers on March 16, 1968, in the hamlet of My Lai, during the Vietnam War. It prompted widespread outrage around the world and reduced American support at home for the war in Vietnam.
Sean Penn and Channing Tatum are said to be attached.
Their other scoop is that Christian Bale is “loosely attached” for the lead role in Joe Carnahan’s Killing Pablo, which Carnahan still plans to make despite him under-taking other projects all the time.

One Comment
I’ve lost a fair bit of interest in Stone’s films over the last few years (and it has very little to do with “Alexander”) and considering I’m not the biggest fan of Sean Penn, it will take a lot to get me at all interested.
As for the Carnahan scoop – Christian Bale was the only thing I needed to get interested. I hope that goes ahead.
