More old news doing the rounds today. AICN are reporting the story that seems to stem from The Hollywood Reporter that Richard Roundtree (a.k.a Shaft) has joined the cast of Speed Racer.

That’s great guys but if you just took the time to look at our movie watch page for Speed Racer you will have seen that Roundtree has been on the cast list for over a month now. Slow, slow, slow.

What the trade are telling us that’s new is that the actor will be playing the role of Ben Burns, an ex-racer and commentator who is a hero to Speed. I can dig that, it’s been ages since he’s had a movie role worth shouting about.
