b) Sin City 2 news…. Angelina Jolie casting, could be in theatres as quickly as 12 months?
c) Bob Dylan biopic – can Cate Blanchett convince us as a man?
d) Are movie biopics over saturating the market? Is their any artist that deserves a biopic movie?
e) Summer box office debate. Can Ratatouille survive going up aganist Transformers, Die Hard and Harry Potter?
f) Peter thinks Transformers won’t be popular with kids? Heated debate ensues!!!
g) Apocalypto opens this week, are we at all interested in Mel Gibson’s epic?

Hey guys, the player’s not working :(
Having problems with the flash player.
Download it to your hard drive and it should work fine.
I want a picture of Dan. Naked.
Um, what??? Damn American beer!!
Anwyay, good podcast. Curious about the music you added to this one… what is it? It’s funny that you should add that music, because I had started tinkering with a musical intro for the podcast … LOL … you know what they say about great minds, blah blah blah….
Note to all of you guys and gals listening in the dark: COMMENT!! It’s too easy to get the feeling that the work your doing is disappearing into an depressing void of non-existence. FEEDBACK not only encourages, but it also improves … you are our fellow movie lovers – so chime in, dammit!!!!
Well you know Ray, everything has it’s price!!!haha
Nice, real nice….
awsome shows guys keep up the good work guys
Thanks for the message, oh and I didn’t know that Kevin Smith was going to be in a Die Hard movie, wicked!
Well I do have to amp the volume on the Audacity microphone, that should work. As for the music, I needed something for the intro and I thought it would be fair for the audience to hear it in full after the show. That’s the reason the whole track is at the very end, if someone doesn’t like it they can skip it. Besides I thought all you blokes loved the raving electronica beats. ;=) I guess I spent to much time listening to the wank… over at BBC Radio 1!
Thank you for your support and I hope you subscribe to it. Its finally up in the iTunes registry. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to leave a message or email me at ralfast@gmail.com.
You must listen to Radio 1 at a bad time of day ;)
Hey I was kind of late to listen to your guy’s podcast but I was particularly interested in your discussion about biopics…I remember one of you said something about these movies becoming repititious and bland and Matt countered back that it is inside it’s own genre…thus what can you expect right? Well I guess you can argue that but it would techincally be within a bigger macrocosm like drama…the level of specificness could be synonymous with “chick-flick” or “war epic” or something. But whatever…I think Dan was right about there being to many. Historical re-enactments seem to have been a commercial trend in the film industry for the last 10 years. There was, obviously, many films based on historical events but the eras were not nearly as prolific as the 90’s and 2000’s. The biopics do seem to follow a rather set path; character reaches stardom and usually abuses it by having a struggle based on a) race b) drugs c) him/herself. Well anyways I was also listening to you guys speak about Indian Jones and how another actor could possibly replace him…and you quoted examples such as James Bond…however the man who first donned the infamous lines of “shaken not stirred” was Sean Connery…so many thought there could never be another…however wam bam and someone came along and then others came along. So why not with Indy right? Well the main difference, I think, is that James Bond is a definitive character in himself…he represents (except for casino royale) all the things American men of the last half-century dream and aspire to. With his girls, cars, gadgets and missions he is a paragon for the 20th century male. Also James Bond existed as Ian Flemming’s creation…he was killing the bad guys and getting the girls long before Mr. Connery said “Bond, James Bond.” Indy was personified with Harrison Ford…Ford is Indy…Indy is Ford. Connery is James Bond…Bond is not Connery. It may kind of confuse you but thats my perspective anyhow.
