Well we actually have some news on the X-Files sequel and the most shocking thing of all is that it doesn’t come from David Duchovny.
Coming Soon are confirming Duchovny’s earlier statements that The X-Files 2 will begin filming in December, with 20th Century Fox officially going ahead with the film and with Gillian Anderson expected to return as Agent Scully.
Duchovny, of course, will be back as Mulder. Yes folks, he got his Candy.
The film will shoot in Vancouver, under the direction of series creator Chris Carter.
We haven’t got to the decade yet when 90’s movies are up for remakes and sequels like the 80’s are now… so this is a rather odd ‘ten year’ sequel. I want to believe it can still work in 2008 but I’m skeptical… I guess that’s what The X-Files was all about.

the first movie is underrated especially when taken as part of the canon. i was disappointed with the movie when it first came out, but watching it again as part of the series (bought all the dvds), i really enjoyed it. i’m looking forward to this sequel as it’s been too long since we’ve seen mulder and scully together.
