Firmly over-shadowed by the Justice League movie is Mark Verheiden’s project the Teen Titans.
For those that don’t know, the Teen Titans are a superhero team made out mostly from the sidekicks of the big heroes so you have characters such as Nightwing, Robin, Starfire etc.
Interestingly, if this movie has no connection to JLA, Nolan’s or Singer’s franchise then it could mean that WB have no less than FOUR different universes for their characters. For example, if Nightwing becomes a popular character and progresses then will he eventually appear in a Justice League sequel?
So confusing right now isn’t it?
Anywhere Verheiden has been speaking to Comic Mix and let’s us know that he turned in a script to the studio a while ago and has just received it back with notes, so he will soon begin his second draft.
He may also talk a little more than he should about his intentions for the movie. Main bullet points from a very long interview…
Well he is saying all the right things and what this project clearly has in it’s favour is an experienced writer who really knows how to generate interesting characters and their relationships to each other.
By keeping these characters teen there is of course the chance to make them grow for future films where they could maybe interact with Batman, Superman etc from the Justice League franchise if WB choose to have them in the same universe.
What’s everyones thoughts on this movie at this point? We’ve spoken so much about JLA but what of the Teen Titans film?
source - superhero hype
Teen Titans - Yes!Justice League - No!

I dont think this would work as a film. If Justice League comes out before it maybe, but as i’ve already said…Justice League will never happen and neither will this. These movies are far too big to bring to the screen.

Well I still have some hope for Justice League but without a fan favorite like Welling for Superman and a solid Batman, I’m not sure if it will survive the boxoffice wars.
And the WB is not really known for doing justice to its comicbook movies - no pun intended.
Welling for Superman

Interesting that they want to keep them as Teens. I’m assuming we’ll see Dick as Robin and then he becomes Nightwing to be more out of Batman’s shadow since Verheiden says we’ll be looking at a transitional period. Or we’ll just being seeing Dick as Nightwing and Tim as Robin.
I’m up for it.

I dont believe we should worry about the complications. I just couldn’t wait if we got the chance to see nightwing in action!
