New writer on WOLVERINE

wolverineThis is good news. I couldn’t even bring myself to finish the awful David Benioff script for WOLVERINE, it was absolutely terrible. He didn’t get the character, he didn’t get the environment and basically it’s just a non-story.

There is nothing interesting going on and it’s just so boring!

So the good news is that Skip Woods (SWORDFISH, HITMAN) has been brought on to do a re-write. I can’t say he’s the best guy they could have chosen but at least they can see that the original script needs some work, and hopefully he will be doing more than just a few changes to it.

A complete over-haul would be nice.

Gavin Hood is set to direct this in November and I doubt the film will survive too much of a delay, so Woods doesn’t have long to work some magic. Let me tell ya, this movie needs it to save it.

If this thing starts shooting in only thirty days that means the best case scenario is Gavin sticks with the basic skeleton of the Benioff script but changes the plot instead. No small task.

And does anyone know if this guy “gets” the Wolverine concept?

It’s do-able, but if the first script is bad, then Gavin’s got his work cut out for him.
