I never hear anything about The Mutant Chronicles. It’s one of the quietest “cool sounding” movies on the horizon.
The only time we have spoken about the movie before was back in January when a teaser poster for the flick was released. I liked that poster then, and this new one released today is pretty cool also, even if it does look like the cover of a bland Xbox 360 game. This is apparently the poster that will be used for the movie at Cannes.
The movie stars Ron Perlman, Devon Aoki, John Malkovich, Thomas Jane and Sean Pertwee in what is a mighty cool cast.

The Mutant Chronicles is a futuristic sci-fi movie that depicts the war between human soldiers and “NecroMutants”
I’ve heard some people describe it as if Saving Private Ryan had been set in the future.
So this movie, 28 Weeks Later and the upcoming Doomsday are all fighting it out to be the best apocalyptic movie of 2007. 28 Weeks Later ruled, so let’s hope the other two follow suit!

When I read Mutant in the title, I was about to yawn. Not that I thought this was X-Men related (you’d have to be pretty dense to make that leap of logic) but because neither the name nor the poster, dynamic as the lighting is, gives any clue to the story’s concept.
But the cast is pretty intriguing. I’ve taken a liking ot Thomas Jane ever since Punisher (lousy movie, good acting on Jane’s part) and Devon Aoki’s another one I’ve liked since Sin City.
Hope they release more details.
