I’ve lost all hope for Hitman. My enthusiasm for the movie 12 months ago has quickly been eroded by bad casting decisions and the direction the talent involved took the movie in. This could have been great. It could have been a gritty 70’s like thriller with a cold assassin character we haven’t seen in years but instead it’s the all guns blazing action movie.
Hitman isn’t about that. It’s a clever computer game with a killer character that could have made for some great viewing.
Instead, I don’t think I’m even going to bother going to see it. Timohty Olyphant is not Agent 47 and this is not the Hitman movie I wanted. Oh and here’s a crappy poster to which I found over at Worst Previews…

The poster looks like it belongs in a sci-fi film.
And the premise is SO f*cking tired! This movie could have been like The Professional, a look at a man who kills as his profession. Instead they make it into yet another generic “chase” flick, with the hitman being pursued. This angle has yet to work, with the exception of the Bourne Supremacy (the Bourne Identity stank!) and Hitman isn’t Bourne.
I won’t repeat what Matt’s already said, other than to say I agreee wholeheartedly.

It’s not what I expected after seeing the trailer and to be honest, I’m not sure it really works for the film but I love the speculation that comes with it.
