Childish? I don't think so. I love the way the script of both movies takes facts about real history and twists it into a semi-believable action tale. The Indiana Jones movies do the same thing, just differently. The fist movie was the better one, but I was NOT disappointed by the second. I especially like the ending of the second one - something heartwarming about the nobility of it.

One of the worst movies I ever saw.
#1 was entertaining... the sequel was just childish.

I enjoyed the movie. It took a while for the 'penny to drop' per se ...
Well done to the guys who wrote this in a way to make light of a story that is not a story. Very, very clever. And Helen Mirren, who just scooped an Oscar as 'The Queen' was another stunning touch of irony as the only person who could unravel the clues to a National Treasure, hidden behind the founding fathers. Not El Dorado - but Federal Reserve for sure. Impressive. Wonder how long it will take for this to burst onto the news - that this is based on a fact. I had no idea, until I saw the movie, how ingenius the writing is. If I had KNOWN, I could have done it first. Fret ye not, writers, your amazing talent and cleverness has been noted by at least one. It wont take long for the others to wake up, Im sure. KUDOS! Unless of course... its a theory... lol

My family really enjoyed National Treasure, although their was a lot of political licence used in the plot we were able to base this years vacation around the sights and story as put forward in the movie. We visited New York, Phildadelphia, Washington and Boston, as well as visiting Williamsburg were we experience the declaration of independence in a theatrical arena. Through this film my son has found a real interest in american history which only added to the enjoyment of the whole trip.

In the case of Ghost Rider, it's clearly because of how well the comic book movie has been treated over the last couple of years and the fact that the box office is full of crap at the minute anyway.

Hmmmm... I thought the first one was enjoyable trash ... I think it might have been better to leave it alone after that.

This sounds interesting and actually makes me want to watch the first movie for the first time. How is it that Nicolas Cage seems to be cornering the market on movies that have been wildly critically panned yet still draw audiences by the bucketload?
