Mos Def is the latest thesp to join Cadillac (looks like they deleted the Records from the title) as music legend Chuck Berry according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Adrien Brody (as Leonard Chess) leads the film as the founder and star of the famed R & B label Chess Records.
Also on board as we have mentioned before are Jeffrey Wright (Muddy Waters), Emmanuelle Chiriqui (Revetta Chess) Beyonce Knowles (Etta James) , Gabrielle Union (Geneva Wave), Columbus Short, Cedric the Entertainer and Tammy Blanchard.
Such a diverse cast. Regular t.v. helmer Darnell Martin directs from his own script of what is his debut feature film. I have a good feeling about this one though I will admit I liked the idea of it a little more when Matt Dillion was leading instead of Brody. Don’t get me wrong I like Brody in some things but too often I find he’s a little zzzzzzzzzzzz.
