Well for those of you who are sick of fantasy movies before Eragon is even released, LOOK AWAY NOW!
Path to 9/11 director David Cunningham has annouced that he is to direct The Dark Is Rising… a fantasy flick that couldn’t be further away from the subject matter of his controversial TV mini-series.
More info from Variety…
“Part of a five-book series by Susan Cooper, “The Dark Is Rising” focuses on a youth who discovers at age 11 that he’s a Sign Seeker, last of a group of immortals dedicated to fighting a growing presence of dark forces. He comes to the realization that he’s charged with saving the world”.
Doesn’t sound any different to any other fantasy movie does it really? Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter sure have started a craze for movie studio’s to release as many fantasy movies as they can to try and capitalize on that success. But they have to realise and I think Narnia showed it….. that not every fantasy story or movie talent will produce the same success as those movies.
Filming is set to begin early 2007 with an ambitious release date of September 28th 2007 planned.
