MGM have confirmed the news in a Press Release about David Self writing the Robocop adaptation…
“David Self’s credits include 13 Days and Road To Perdition. He wrote God of War for Universal, to which Brett Ratner is attached to direct, and was a writer on Universal’s Wolfman currently in production.”
Fuck!
God of War could have been this century’s Sinbad - Jason and the Argonauts - Clash of the Titans.
With someone like a Sam Raimi, a Guillermo del Toro it could have been the epic spectacular that the first video game is.
Instead it’s going to be more Doom than anything else. What a way to kill a franchise before it’s even started.

Well. Hmm. Well, maybe Ratner understands the precarious state of his career, so he pours his life’s blood into creating a masterpiece? And maybe I win the lottery someday soon. It could happen!
How does Ratner keep getting movies? Did no one watch the last Rush Hour movie? Its obvious the guy is a horrible director, yet he just keeps getting movie after movie. I don’t understand it. So much for having any hope for the God of War movie.
