Ok, so I managed to find time for one quick update (check back later for the rest)…
Malcolm McDowell has revealed to Rotten Tomatoes (via Bloody Disgusting) that he has signed up for a further two Halloween movies after Rob Zombie’s remake which will hit cinema’s this August.
“I’ve signed for three,” Malcolm McDowell tells Rotten Tomatoes. “How about that? They obviously think it’s going to be a big hit.”
“I have to tell you that I’ve never seen Halloween 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. I must be one of the only people on the planet never to have seen any of the films and I’m so glad because I asked the director, Rob Zombie, whether he thought I should see them and he said, ‘No, better no.’”
Zombie has made it clear that he has no intentions of directing any more Halloween movies after his remake. It’s nice and all that Dimension Films think they have a financially successful franchise on their hands here, but once this remake goes down badly with critics and fans a like, the people returning for the sequel will heavily decrease.
If I were to look inside my crystal ball, I would say we will get one more Halloween movie after this one, before the franchise dies again and we won’t reach the third.
Bloody Disgusting have a brand new “yellow band” trailer for Halloween, which I’m presuming isn’t as graphic or as violent as a “red band” trailer.
Well I can’t tell any difference between the old one and this new “yellow band” one. Don’t know what new footage they have added. Your still not selling your movie to me Rob and your “terrifiying new vision” of horror looks rather lame to me.

I don’t really know who Mcdowell is, but i feel bad for him who doesn’t know what kinda shit he’s getting into.
I don’t care what anybody says…I have no respect for those who are trying to defend rob zombie with Rob Zombie’s remake. This looks like a massive failure…michael myers does NOT look better now with his stupid beat up mask, the scenes are still too bright. i never REALLY liked the first one, it had a good theme and the original concept was interesting…but it wasnt as good as people say it was, and it certainly did not warrant 7 sequels!! and now a remake…??
why they keep trying to revive Michael Myers, i just don’t get it…industry people should just be original and create a new horror icon. RECYLCLING, in the longrun, is just a waste of time, money and effort.
Rob zombie is looking to make a gritty portrait of michael myers, but from what i see it’s just about gore and suspense.
and seriously…you expect Rob Zombie to put out a good character-driven movie?? seriously? look at all his other movies with one-dimentional characters and laugable stories.
I can’t even believe that people dare to say Michael Myers is worthy enough to be compared to jason vorhees and freddy krueger. both of those horror villains are in totally different leagues..michael myers is just a psychotic pussy. just lame….anyone else agree? please tell me nobody is looking forward to this CRAP!!
Amen, brother! Rarely have I been as annoyed with a remake as I am with this one.
Agreed guys.
I despise this remake, but I will be there opening night to see it. My curiosity for it dictates I must.
And once they remake Halloween… the floods are open as far as I’m concerned. Nothing is safe.
True Matt….I think that could have best been said when Gus Van Sant remade PSYCHO. Truly after that moment, nothing was sacred.
Just don’t touch The Exorcist or ThE Wizard of OZ…ok?
So true… I’ve seen enough Exorcist sequels and prequels to last me a lifetime. Your right about Psycho though, but that was sooooooo bad people seem to have forgotten about it.
Nice post! You have said it very well. Keep going.
