Can your life be narrowed down to just seven important days that defy you as a person?
Your birthday obviously. The day you lose your virginity. The day your career takes off and your settled for life. The day you marry. The day of your first child. The day you retire. The day you die.
Well that’s kind of the premise behind Universal’s SEVEN DAYS which has just attached JUST LIKE HEAVEN, MEAN GIRLS and upcoming THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES director Mark Waters to helm says The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will follow seven pivotal days in a guy’s life during a 20 year period, with each new segment of the film beginning as he wakes up. There’s no sci-fi involved here, it’s not like QUANTUM LEAP where he wakes up at different time periods and it’s definitely his life, the premise suggests that we as an audience will be time travelling and spying on his progression.
The comedy/drama will be written by Joshua Ferris (THE LIFE AND DEATH OF JIMMY KATZ) once the WGA strike is completed.
Waters’ pre-strike film will be the Matthew McConaughey/Jennifer Garner comedy THE GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST for New Line which begins production soon.
I don’t mind the idea of this film actually. You know, Waters picks some interesting concepts sometimes and although his flicks are usually in the same genre, at least they all play a little differently. THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES will be his biggest test to date though when it opens in February…
