Let me In is the actual name of the book that the movie is based off so I have no problem with the change.

Wow. This movie just came out basically and we already need an Americanized version? Honestly, unless you really follow horror movies or know someone who does, you probably don’t know about the original. Sure, it is one of the best vampire movies ever made, but let’s face it, average moviegoer in the States is going to see a trailer and think this:

“A vampire movie with kids as the main characters? How would that be remotely scary? No thanks I’ll pass.”

Americans want cheap scares, not amazing horror films. This is going to bomb in ways they can’t even imagine.

This sooooo pisses me off that again Hollywood has such a complete lack of any original thought, that they would re-make a total masterpiece of horror like Let The Right One In. I rank this up there with as bad as an idea as jack-ass Will Smith remaking Old Boy.

This is a disaster in the making but unfortunately, there are a tonne of people in the U.S. that’s going to watch this without ever knowing that the original is quite more engrossing than this will ever be. A Travesty, no less.

Let The Right One In is a brilliant, brilliant film…calling it Let Me In, I’m sure a producer just thought of an R.E.M. song and decided that’s what it was called.

Let The Right One In works as a title with a double meaning…it’s an amazing title for a vampire film, and also as a title about the perils of love etc.

Let Me In is a title for a film about somebody whose been locked out of their house by accident.

I don’t think the remake will be anywhere near as good.

calling the thing “let me in” makes me want to scratch out my eyeballs. what was wrong with the original title? i just don’t fucking get it. i mean, i’m happy and all that they’re using kids and trying to remain faithful to the source material, but that title for whatever reason REALLY rubs me the wrong way. whatever. ‘eff it.

Odds are it won’t be as good as the original. But… It could be a good movie. The strongest elements of Let The Right One In were the dramatic scenes between the kids. They had lots of chemistry. And you also felt the internal pain the vampire girl was going through. You got the feeling that she wanted to experience being loved and loving someone, but her being a vampire kept her on the move and missing those elements.
If they concentrate the remake on those things, it could turn out nice. Not holding my breath obviously, but who knows?
