Craig Lucas will helm the Matthew Perry/Hilary Swank movie Laws of Motion. It would also appear that Ben Foster has dropped out of the flick. His absence in the story from The Hollywood Reporter and the addition of Justin Long’s name would suggest this.
The movie centers on an uptight professor (Perry) struggling with a repressive career and community, as well as headaches caused by his free-spirited brother and sister. Swank will take on a supporting role as the perfectionist neighbor of Perry’s character.
The movie will be Matthew Perry’s first feature since Friends ended, and his first movie role since The Whole Ten Yards.
Shooting begins in July for a release sometime next year.
