Kevin Conroy voicing BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT
I’ve never been big into Japanese animation which is probably why my anticipation for the straight to DVD movie Batman: Gotham Knight has been kept fairly reserved up to now.
Still, I can’t help but get a little giddy when I hear the news that Bat legend Kevin Conroy will return to voice the character he totally owns when it comes to an animated Batman.
My absolute favourite incarnation of the character outside of comics was the animated t.v. show of the 90’s. I think the character has huge potential in the medium. I’ve heard very slight rumors that if movies like this and of course the recent release of Justice League: The New Frontier do well at the box office then it might see such stories as Batman: The Long Halloween and The Dark Knight Returns adapted in the same way.
Here’s some new shots from Batman: Gotham Knight which will be released just a few weeks before The Dark Knight’s theatrical run in July. Can’t frikkin wait…

As much as I love Conroy, I actually hate the idea of him providing the voice.
I feel that people should just let him go. He played Batman in a different continuity there may actually be someone out there better than him. Also, when I watch this film, I know I won’t be thinking of the Bruce/Batman played. They’re voices are too different and they played Batman differently.
I have a feeling WB wanted this to happen to guarantee good sales.

Im suprised Christian Bale isn’t doing the voice, you would have thought it to be a no brainer. In anycase Kevin is a fine choice and is rightly heralded as the best Batman voice.

I wouldn’t mind if Conroy changed his voice, but I have a feeling he won’t and if he did, it still wouldn’t sound like Bale.

Damn I’m SO glad WB finally grew a brain and is dumping the crappy Dini-stlye animation they adopted, ironically with the 90’s Batman and are mobing back toward a more literal traditional drawing style.
I want to vomit every time I see some Superman/Justice League cartoon, looking like it was drawn by a bunch of 4 year olds.
Oh, and Kevin Conroy OWNS Batman!
