Exactly a week ago today Edgar Allen Poe’s short story Tell-Tale was officially put into development as a $20 million pre-strike movie from Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company Scott Free Productions.
Seven days later and they now have a lead star… Josh Lucas.
He will be starring as the single father whose recently translated heart leads him on a frantic search of his donor’s killer before a similar fate befalls him.
Tell-Tale is just one of many movies that has quickly been sewn together with the strike and will mark the debut mainstream feature film from Michael Cuesta, a regular T.V. helmer who has previously directed episodes of the dark comedy/drama Six Feet Under.
Is Lucas a strong enough name to lead a horror movie that won’t fall into the 6th place box office placement, or worse… go straight to DVD?
I hope he is. I like the guy and Poe’s works are just delicious. Hope they find the right man behind the camera.
