The much wanted Josh Brolin has told MTV that he did indeed turn down a role in the upcoming Warner Bros. revival of the TERMINATOR franchise because he ultimately felt “it didn’t feel right”.
McG boastingly told the world earlier in the year that he was going after Brolin who at that point had just come off an incredible 2007 and had just seen himself cast as George W. Bush in Oliver Stone’s W. In the end, Brolin turned WB down and Sam Worthington instead took the role of Marcus.
“Yeah. I talked to Christian [Bale] for a couple hours,” Brolin told MTV. “I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didn’t think it felt right.”
Securing Brolin would have been a massive coup for McG who already at that point had the massive A-lister of Christian Bale on his side and in great timing is now coming off one of the biggest movies of all time with THE DARK KNIGHT.
Brolin in the coming weeks with have to decide if another Warner Bros. tentpole, that of JONAH HEX, is right for him to do. I speculated last week, it was him that pushed the CRANK creators off the franchise in the hope of getting a good director on board.
Meanwhile, McG has confirmed to a German Newspaper that the final running time of TERMINATOR SALVATION is 2 hours and 10 minutes.

I have to say fair play to Brolin for turning it down. There is definately such a thing as over-exposure for an actor and I think that Brolin’s involvement in such a high profile film would have just about tipped him over the edge.
Im suprised actually that Brolin turned it down. It would have well showcased his wooden style.
Having not kept up with developements, I’m not sure who was cast as Terminator instead.
I know it was not Steve Innes though, as he is in Melbourne Australia right now working on something.
Innes would have been a good Terminator choice.
Who is Steve Innes?
Where is he from?
Steve Innes is an Aussie actor from Perth.
Same place Heath Ledger and Sam Worthington came from.
Don’t see Innes much outside Australian films and TV.
I live in London and I see Steve Innes on TV here pretty often.
Right now he is on a police drama series (not The Bill.)
He is an Aussie but was born here.
He is also filming a movie here with Colin Farrell and Thomas Jane.
This is the Steve Innes who is related to Hammond Innes(Grandfather) the writer and Laura Innes(Neice) who is a Canadian/US actor who was on ER.
Also related to Matthew Innes(cousin) the Australian cricket player.
I’m not really sure Innes is in the same league as he others mentioned.
That’s not meant in a disparaging way but innes pretty much does radio, local T.V. and local movies in Australia and pretty much all of that in Perth, where he lives.
Can’t hurt to have famous family in the industry though but one wonders that at age 39, if he has not made it big by now then perhaps he won’t.
Innes is OK, I like him.
LOL.
Steve Innes is the Aussie actor who just wound up a season of War Of The Roses in Perth opposite Cate Blanchett and the reviews are highly complimentary to both.
They are taking the show overland to Sydney and Melbourne later this year and I hope to be able to see then when I’m there.
Not a big fan of the earlier movie, though.
I have never heard of Steven Innes until recently, when I read that he turned down a role in Ridley Scot’s Robin Hood movie, electing to return to Australia to work with Mel Gibson on a film there.
Is he to be the new Mad Max?
Maybe Gibson is not to play MM after all.
Why did he give up the chance to work with Scott and Crowe?
Why is there not more media information on Innes?
So, Steven Innes is related to both Hammond Innes and Laura Innes?
How?
Who says?
