J.J. Abrams unlocking the MYSTERY ON FIFTH AVENUE

J.J. Abrams has a new project in development.

His latest idea came to him after reading last week’s New York Times article titled “Mystery on Fifth Avenue” written by Penelope Green about a New York home whose owners discover secret panels and hidden clues which lead them an Indy Jones like adventure.

At this point Abrams is only producing the untitled film with Paramount, ala Cloverfield

The Fifth Avenue home, described as a giant ’20s-era co-op with Central Park views, was gutted several years ago at the behest of a couple, who later moved in with their four children. An architectural designer who oversaw the rehab job left behind a series of messages, games and treasures, unbeknownst to the family, who eventually unraveled a mystery that featured a poem, a book, a soundtrack and a host of historical figures.

What an amazing story. You can read the fascinating article HERE and see photos of the house and it’s mysteries HERE.

For a film, I’m guessing a more cranked up reason for why the couple have mysteries in their new house. Some kind of twisted game formed by the architect who we find out does this kind of thing with every new home he designs, in a Saw like game to play with new owners?
