Ok so with his last two movies Never Back Down and Cry_Wolf, director Jeff Wadlow has hardly made anything inspiring or something that would make his name a must see whenever a film of his comes out just yet BUT this guy is still young. He has time to develop.
Not everyone is Orson Welles when they start out.
Variety say Summit Entertainment have bought the script titled The Tomb from Miles Chapman (relatively unknown scribe) and set Wadlow the task of directing once Jason Keller (re-writes on Deception) is done re-writing the script.
Story centers on the world’s foremost authority on structural security, who’s forced to escape from the master prison of his own design and use every trick up his sleeve to find the person who put him there.
Never Back Down was the first in-house studio hit from Summit Entertainment so it’s no surprise they have gone after Wadlow for one of their projects once again.
I like the sound of this movie. I think prison flicks are so easy to get into and you almost don’t need no exposition. One of man’s worst fears is of losing his freedom, so it’s all setup right there. Let’s hope Wadlow is a good director just waiting for the right material to take off.

Isn’t this the plot of the tv show “Prison Break”?
Yeah, it sort of sounds like Prison Break.
I think prison are great to get into when you’re dealing with regular people. Not superheroes! I’m talking to you Goyer!
Come on Lencho, SUPER MAX is a great idea for a movie.
If I could be convinced that Magneto was locked into a prison in X-Men, then I have no problem in believing the same here for minor B character superhero’s and of course The Green Arrow himself.
I’m sorry Matt. But, I think the idea of Super Max is just dumb. What’s the point? Why not have him fight these guys outside and be a hero instead of trying to break out with these guys? This won’t be a Green Arrow film. It’ll be an Oliver Queen one. It’s just like my friend once said…
“That just proves that Goyer is full of it.
Here’s a grand idea for a “Batman” movie:
Batman gets busted, revealed to be Bruce Wayne, Wayne convicted of countless acts of vigilantism, violence, and property damage, sentenced to life in prison, and has to team up with the Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Killer Croc, and every other cheesy supervillain to come down the pike, BUT no one is in costume except for the first 10 minutes, no gadgets, no nifty tech, just 2+ hours of hardass Bruce trying to convince these brutes not to give it to him hard up the ass, the ageless wisdom of how alike are enemies to one another, when you peel back the layers of each one’s psychosis, and the inevitable ending of Bruce and Mr. J sharing a wisecrack over the relative subjectivity of in/sanity on the rooftop, before each leaps over the walls and goes on the lamb.
That’s not “Batman”. That’s “Bruce Wayne: Fugitive”.
Not slamming you, if you’re liking the idea of ‘Supermax’, but I think it’s lame and contrived, even for comic book fare.”
Would you still want to watch it if were Bruce instead of Ollie?
