Jack Black returns to the SCHOOL OF ROCK?

Jack Black who by my reckoning has never done a sequel has told FilmIndustry.biz that he is considering doing just that with a School of Rock 2.

The original 2003 movie grossed $81 million domestic ($35 million budget) and was a super hit worldwide too. It usually is ranked as one of the highlights of Black’s career.

“I’d really like to do it, the last one was great,” Jack Black said at Cannes. “We are seriously thinking about it, there’s already a script. In a few weeks we have to decide if we go through with the project or not.“

The original movie was a surprise bit of light entertainment from inventinve director Richard Linklater who has always spoke fondly of his time on the picture and would probably be interested in a return. Mike White who wrote the scripts for Black’s Orange County and Nacho Libre was the screenwriter of the original movie but it’s unknown as to whether it’s his script they are talking about.

Enjoyed the first movie even if it was like DIET, DIET, DIET Coke – it was so light. I would be up for more.

I flippin’ love School of Rock, Jack Black and the righteous noise of amps up to 11, so if they’re serious about this then I’d be extemely interested.

As always with these sequels, the tension of “will they screw it up” is disconcerting. If they’re going to do it they’re going to have to do it well, make sure that the music is ace, the same kids are back and that the script isn’t stilted and devoid of soul.

Damn, I love School of Rock. “Let’s go melt some faces!”

I hope that the gods of rock iluminate the mind of the one soul that’s gonig to write this sequel. There’s to many hiphop in Hollywood … I want some rock.

I also LOVE School of Rock and am super-excited about the idea of a sequel-those kids are great-and Jack just kills me everytime I watch it-and def. bring back Joan Cusack as the principal-hopefully there’ll not be a role for Sarah Silverman this time!

Allright! this would be awsome if they actually did it well.
so join me in a prayer for this to happen and be awsome:

God of rock, thank you
for this chance to kick ass.

We are your humble servants.
Please give us the power

to blow minds with
our high-voltage rock.

- In your name, we pray. Amen.

PS. i totally watched the movie again to get that :P
