It’s YOU AGAIN, Kristen Bell

Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

Not likely when she was played by the lovely Kristen Bell.

One scene I really dug from that movie was when our four principal leads were all at dinner and her actress character was being ripped apart over how stupid and idiotic her movie about killer phones was. One of the reasons I liked that scene so much was that in reality, Bell really did star in a horror about mobile phones, a complete flop by the name of Pulse, so it’s so great to see an actress have a sense of humour about herself and her past career mistakes.

The news breaking in today’s Variety is that Bell has just been hired by director Andy Fickman to star in You Again, the new rom-com he has setup at Disney.

Fickman is one of Disney’s top players and his two movies there; The Game Plan and Race to Witch Mountain, both with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have made good money for the studio. And personally speaking, he’s probably the most down to Earth film personality we have ever dealt with at OWF and has always been very gracious with us. Just last week he took the time to appear on our Movie Castaway.

Anyway. In the movie, Bell will play a girl who is horrified to find that her brother is marrying the very girl who made her life a living hell in high school. So it’s a three way rom-com, with a major male and major female role still to cast and a movie very much in the trend of the recent wedding themed rom-coms like 27 Dresses and Bride Wars.

Bell’s got great comedic timing, and always reminds me of Sarah Michelle Gellar when I see her on screen. If they cast two more interesting actors and avoid the Dane Cook’s and Jessica Alba’s of this world, then this might be fun.

YES! im so glad you posted this! haha. i tell people this all the time when i watch this and they just look at me weird…

The part where she talks about how she thought her show had at least one more season can also be compared to her old show, VERONICA MARS.

…i miss that show. :(
