It’s back on!!! JUSTICE LEAGUE released next year.

A combination of bad planning, a loss of potential projects to other studios, the writers strike and no faith in a Superman Returns sequel has led Warner Bros. to push heavily for the Justice League film to restart production in the next couple of weeks.

Variety say that WB want a summer tentpole for 2009 to add to the current slate which only includes Watchmen in March and Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins in May. The writers are making drastic last minute changes and are polishing the script right now, with all the original actors (Brody, Hammer, Cotrona, etc.) told to keep training for their parts.

The big decision to push the film seems to have come last week when they lost out in the bidding war to Sony for Roland Emmerich’s new “end of the world scenario” with 2012. They have no Potter next year. No other superhero movie. They need cash and if it means rushing this then so be it.

Is that any way to run a studio?

Could bite them in the ass in the years to come when they can’t get team-up movies, or stand-alone flicks off the ground when the better run outfit Marvel enjoy success after success with their characters.

So Justice League: Mortal (we think) due out next year with the high school cast, Common and a guy from Mad Max thrown in their for good measure. Could be a train wreck.

I’m convinced that this movie will never happen!(a lot of people are probably glad of that.)
If they are rushing it, it is destined to be a fucking Trainwreck! especially as it’s now, not even gonna feature The Man of steel or The Dark Night?? eh? how can this be a Justice League film with out them? next thing you know they will probably kick Wonder Woman out as well.
Warners truly are a bunch of Ball lickers!

Cotrona wasn’t named in the article.

And why do people keep saying “high school cast”? The youngest guy there is 21 years old. And he could probably pass of as being older with a mask on if we’re really never going to see him without it.

Lencho,

Cotrona wasn’t mentioned in the article but neither was Teresa Palmer or the rest of the name. The cast for Justice League is well known to everyone. We know who all the names were, they have been mentioned by the trades over the last couple of months…

Batman… Armie Hammer

Superman… D.J. Cotrona

Common… Green Lantern

Adam Brody… The Flash

Megan Gale… Wonder Woman

That guy from Mad Max…. Martian Manhunter

Anton Yelchin… Aquaman

Teresa Palmer…. Talia Al Ghul

and possibly…

Jay Baruchel… as the bad guy!

I think we call it “high school cast” as more of a signifer term than a literal one.

I.e… young, inexperienced actors for the big stage. Not actors like Christian Bale or Robert Downey Jr. who were massively well respected actors who had a great legacy on film before they were cast.

The Glove,

Batman and Superman will be in this if it gets made. I’m pretty certain.

What if the people who weren’t named in this article were let go and WB decided to look for different actors? I’d say the actors who’ve been vocal about the film are most definitely still in. I have a feeling something’s still up when it comes to the main cast.

I think it gets old when people keep saying “high school cast”, “The OC”, or “Teen Titans”. Reeve was 24 when got the role of Supes, Routh was 25, Lynda Carter was 24 when she was Wonder Woman, and Bale was 29. As you can see age is nothing but a number when it comes to looking/acting the part the way the director sees fit. It’s probably better to wait until we’ve seen these actors in thier roles to pass better/more informed judgement.

It will take more than casting changes to save this piece of candy-coated crap. WB and Paramount are vying to see who can reduce their studio to utter worthless shite first.
