Is Russell Crowe REALLY going to be in Dark Knight?

Christian Bale and Russell Crowe have been doing the rounds for 3:10 to Yuma for quite a number of weeks now and one recurring theme is Bale claiming that Russell Crowe is going to be in The Dark Knight. Now, personally I think it’s bullshit and it’s just these two guys messing around with the web (I recall Bale doing it with Star Trek the other day) but every single interview I read now for Yuma brings up this type of quote.

CS: Can you talk about working on Batman right now?

Bale: Russell’s going to be actually in the new Batman movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now!

CS: Are you going to do “Justice League” after?

Bale: No.

Crowe: What about the Green Lantern?

Bale: No!

Could a cameo be in the offing for Crowe?

Nah not for my money. It’s obvious these guys are just messing around, I mean just look at the next question Crowe pulls out of his bag, asking Bale whether he’s going to be in The Green Lantern. Hilarious!

And yes it’s a U.S. holiday, so news is very slow.
