Cinema Blend are the one stop place for all the latest gossip on Angels & Demons, the second of Dan Brown’s two Robert Langdon mystery novels. The first for those living under a rock was The Da Vinci Code which amassed a small fortune for Sony.

The site were the first to tell us that Tom Hanks had been offered the highest salary ever for a Hollywood actor if he were to reprise his role as Langdon in the movie and they were also the first to tell us the rumor that super-model Gisele Bundchen would play the female sidekick role in the movie. The Bundchen casting has actually yet to be confirmed although at this point it looks quite likely.

The latest rumor then from the blend is that the new actor without a franchise (he won’t be returning for any more Pirates movies) Orlando Bloom could be set for a role in the Ron Howard directed thriller. Bloom has no roles on his upcoming schedule which would add fuel to this fire and he just keeps getting offered these huge roles.

I’ve read the Angels & Demons novel and I’m struggling to work out what role Bloom could have, unless they write a new character for him?

Seems an odd bit of casting this one, I really can’t see Bloom fitting in with this franchise at all but we shall see.
