Latino Review via Rope of Silicon have some juicy gossip on just who might be helming the next James Bond movie. They claim that at least four directors held meetings with the producers and the man they are said to have gone for is… Marc Forster.
The German born director has quite an impressive resume. Monster’s Ball, Finding Neverland, Stay and Stranger than Fiction being his last four flicks… all of which have gone down pretty well with critics and audiences a like. One thing the movies have in common is that they are all drama’s. Bond would be a whole new ballpark if he does indeed get the gig.
The other guys who held talks but look to have been piped to the post are…
The dependable action helmer who rarely makes a boring movie. His movies though are extremely stylish and always contain his distinct style and I think that might have been his undoing here.
I truly believe Proyas is one of the most under-rated directors around. Personally, I think he’s a little too good for Bond. I, Robot and Dark City are awesome.
You know, he is the kind of director they would have gone for in the past with this movie. A uninteresting helmer, who delivers exactly what the studio wants and nothing more. I’m actually a little surprised they didn’t go with him.
Has Marc Forster then shown enough in his resume of films for us to believe he has the pedigree to direct such a big action franchise? He’s talented for sure, but his name doesn’t quite fit does it?

Marc Foster would be brilliant, what he could do with Bond!!! But I think that this step might be a bit too risky with the studios, but let’s see what the future brings :)
