Matt here, Jon Favreau and Iron Man’s bigger than expected spotlight was quickly taken away this summer when The Dark Knight took over Hollywood and now the latest Marvel darling wants to retailaite with a whole movie shot in 3D. After some of those incredible action sequences in Batman, how can he not?
Speaking to Collider whilst promoting the new Iron Man Blu-Ray/DVD, he claims The Dark Knight was a “game changer” and if Marvel could stump up the cash, he would shoot the whole movie in IMAX!
Also on the same night most likely, he spoke to Coming Soon and offered these tidbits…
Robert Downey Jr, Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow are all on board for the next installment due in May 2010. He also expects to give himself a bigger role as Horace Hogan.
The Mandarin will almost certainly be introduced in the next film, but as a primary “big bad”, we may have to wait till the third installment.
The storylines of “Demon in a Bottle” (where the drink gets the better of Stark) and the famous moment of when Rhodes takes on the Iron Man armor are expected to be played with. As Rhodes said in the last movie when staring at the armour, “next time baby, next time”.

Little kid movies and terrible movies are put into IMAX so you can stand them. It’s rediciulous because they shoot the whole movie so you can have things coming at you and they don’t shoot it for the story which was the part that pulled me into the first one. Plus it wasn’t the IMAX that made TDK better than Iron Man it was Christopher Nolan’ GREAT ability to deliver a great film.
