Updates on the trailers for my personal three most anticipated movies of next year. These are three franchises that I grew up with and films with these characters are some of the most rewatched on my DVD player of all time.
So I’m not for a second saying that STAR TREK will be nearly as good as some of the movies released next year, but it just needs the title STAR TREK to make my top 3.
First up then, it’s been confirmed that a 7 MINUTE OPENING SCENE which we first reported some months back, will indeed be attached to the Warner Brothers movie I AM LEGEND. This is likely to be The Joker’s raid on a Gotham bank which was the only part of the film shot with IMAX camera’s.
While we are talking about Batman, there’s some official marketing pics that have leaked online… probably for the release of toys in the future. Joker looks great but that Batman suit looks awful plastic…
Next is STAR TREK and we won’t have to wait long until the first teaser trailer for that movie is released. It’s likely to be just as much a trailer as the one for Batman in the summer, probably showing very little footage from the film itself or it’s characters. The trailer is attached to the J.J. Abrams movie CLOVERFIELD which is released on January 18th 2008.
And lastly, we won’t be seeing a trailer for INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL until February. This means they are likely to be skipping the ‘teaser’ part and just going straight to the big feature length one.
Expect a big late push on this one, as the movie opens in May leaving three months of mega advertising.

That Batman suit has gone all George Cluny shitty just like the one in his Batman Film, lets hope that doesn’t reflect this movie!(And the cowl still looks shite aswell!)
Why do they always end up over doing the Batsuit in these films? (Apart from getting a new toyline out of it I supose)
The best batman i’ve ever seen on screen is still the one from DEADEND that Sany Collora short film thats on the net,at least he stuck to the classic design, the right colours etc.
And he looked menacing, the cowl was brilliant on that, and he sure looked like he could kick some ass, unlike Bale in the big budget films where let’s face it he looks like he can bearly move and he’s like a fucking armoured tank. this new one just looksas bad as the rest to me.(Hope they dont go with that look in the Justice League.)
Still not so sure about the look of the joker in this aswell, again he dosen’t look as good as he did in those two shorts DEADEND and GRAYSON that are on the net.
The make-up seems all wrong to me.That’s enough of me geeking!
Ah the Batsuit doesn;t look bad, except perhaps the gaudy bronze belt which maybe contrasts with Christopher Nolan’s gritty-dark take on the franchise. The Joker, unsurprisingly, looks awesome.
As for the trailers, I;m getting increasingly nervy about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The fact that I now have to wait until February means I’ll be in Indy anxiety for another few months. Not even a teaser?! Curses!
I have to say the only thing that kind of bugs me about this suit (and the last one) is the belt. But that’s always been a problem. Why would a creature of the night, someone who’s trying to blend in, wear a bright yellow belt? The yellow in the bat symbol makes sense, as it acts as a target for the bad guys, since his armor is thickest there. But now that they’ve done away with any color in the bat symbol, there’s really no reason to keep the belt that color. Other than continuity I guess. Maybe the suit would look too ‘dark’ without it.
I think the armor works in this case. Nolan has created a world where bad guys have real guns and most likely Batman is going to get shot. As cool as the Dead End suit looked, it just wouldn’t work in this world. Also, it may look a bit plastic-y here, but I think in the context of the film it will work just fine. Remember that photo or the rubber suit that came out before Batman Begins, where his shoulder looked all wonky? In contrast, this suit looks like he actually would be able to move around as much as he needs to. ok, that was way too long. Sorry.
