The estimated totals are in, the worst film on the filmography of Steven Spielberg – the mess that is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull earned a massive $26 million on it’s opening full day of release in the U.S.
Still, it’s a long way off the $50 million+ opening day releases of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End.
Fantasy Moguls also report that not as many fanboys rushed out to see the movie at midnight and the $4 million Wednesday night totals is said to be less than expected.
With it being a long holiday weekend, the movie is expected to run $150 million very close over the next five days if it keeps up the pace. The film is said to be enjoying some of the success from the fall out of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and has quickly become the family friendly number one choice for the weekend.
This of course means big families and multiple ticket buys!

I saw this last night. I honestly cannot imagine what they were thinking. It was by far the worst Indy movie and even as a stand alone film would be horrible. Don’t waste your time or money.
I saw the midnight showing of this movie with great expectations. Indiana Jones is a symbol of my childhood, and I could not wait to have another adventure with Dr. Jones and relive the old memories. The movie was a huge disappointment. The execution of the plot, and even the plot itself, was sloppy and stupid. There was no strong character development that was characteristic of the previous films, and Lucas’ awful handiwork of silly, campy humor was allover the place. Harrison Ford did a good job with the terrible script he was given, and he certainly still is Indiana Jones, but this fourth installment to the franchise really is a disgrace to the fans and a huge letdown.
I would have seen this movie today, but after the overwhelmingly bad reactions from all corners, even from folks who previously orgasmed at the mere mention of the movie, I’ve decided not to.
Of course drooling, retards like Steve Grassell will say it’s the greatest movie ever made and a few years from now Lucas will feel the praise of a few brain dead bastards will justify his subjecting the world to yet another cannibalization of his earlier quality works.
I saw the movie the first half of the movie was good, but the second half was over the top.The sword fighting in the jungle the killer ants, the jeep going over the side landing on a tree then falling into the river, and the UFO ending was too much I feel that the first half was Indy the second was Star Wars.
