Image that still gives me hope over Batman/Superman team-up

The image from I AM LEGEND that might still give us hope…

I know it’s an old image. We all know this was seen near the beginning of the recent Warner Brothers blockbuster.

But let’s just think for a moment. If I remember rightly, I AM LEGEND is set in 2012?

IF A JLA movie was to be scrapped, this would be probably be the schedule for WB’s Batman and Superman franchises over the next few years.

2008 - THE DARK KNIGHT

2010 - SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

2011 - BATMAN 3

2012 - BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN

We all want to see a Batman vs. Superman movie. Don’t go lying in the comments section guys, it’s been a dream for all of us since we were a kid… or if your like me, since I read Frank Miller’s awesome graphic novel THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.

A Batman/Superman team-up will be made sometime, I’m convinced of it. Of course it could well be sooner rather than later with this JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, but as we’ve all become aware recently and as IESB’s sources say… that movie might have been scrapped….

“Justice League is indeed in danger of not starting production on time and maybe even getting scrapped altogether… The concerns are that the script is not ready to go in front of cameras, and also that the budget is getting a bit out of control, the WGA strike has proven to be Kryptonite to Superman and friends.

George Miller really wants this movie to be way big but the cast is 100% unknowns,”

WB should kill this movie and really re-think about their future strategy. What Marvel are doing with THE AVENGERS flick and their whole universe should be the blue-print of what WB should do in the future.

Make a stand-alone GREEN LANTERN movie. Do THE FLASH. Find a new director for SUPERMAN but don’t go ahead with this JLA garbage.

An established Batman and an established Superman, in a movie together is worth a billion dollars. Play it smart, you might only get one shot at this and if this JLA movie blows… you will forever be playing catch-up to Marvel who will be raking in the cash for years to come.

  1. I’d much rather see JLA as a film, Batman Vs Superman always sounded rediculious to me.
Anyways from what I’ve been reading eleswhere on the net they are well into rehearsals for this movie, WETA are designing costumes and working on special effects and what Miller has already said is that he’s considers these characters as moderen greek myths.
I thinks he’s got a handle on the project, why else would he have agreed to do a film like this? (Shouldn’t think he needs the cash.)Think about it,it’s going to be one of the most expensive action flicks ever. If it bombs Miller has everything to loose.
I’m still unsure about some of the casting as well but I’m holding off to see what the dude comes up with.
Hopefully a full cast photo anouncement in all their glorious character costumes.(cause this is the only way he’s going the keep the Geeks cand Naysayers from chomping at the bit big time.)….and then they’ll still slag the fucker off!

  2. The news about WETA designing the costumes is something that we actually broke in October….

It’s not new and is not proof that this film is still being made.

    I think it’s in trouble.

Bottom line, if Miller thought these were modern day Gods then he wouldn’t have cast the people he has.

  3. Yup. I’d rather seea Superman/Batman team up than a Superman VS Batman. I like Batman best but Superman would hand his ass to him unless he somehow made Superman powerless.

I hope JLA happens but with a good cast and 2 hour runtime.

  4. I never understood some fanboys wanting to see a Superman - Batman punch up. Superman VS Batman is a stupid idea. World’s Finest, however, is a great idea. They’re two contrasting characters working toward the same goals with different philosophies. (Like one of those old buddy cop movies - with superpowers! lol. That make it sound cheesy stupid, but it actually works pretty well.)

They like and respect each other, but argue a lot. Superman is one of the few genuine friends Batman has.

  5. I like Batman but seriously, Superman would kick his tight leather ass unless Batman got hold of some kryptonite and then just about anyone could kick Supermans ass. I’m just saying…

  6. honestly, i couldn’t care less about a batman vs. superman film. i think the idea of two heroes going at it is somewhat redundant, and is a storyline more reserved for a comic. our geeky debates over who would win in a foot race (superman or the flash) should remain private and not portrayed on the big screen.

that aside, i’d like to say my final peace on jla. i disagree with the quote; the cast isn’t 100% unknown. we know a few names associated with this film, but that’s beside the point. being, none of us savvy really want to see this film made, and if we did see it, our only reason would be to curiously see how much it would suck. that’s no way to see a film.

i just hope they scrap this production and call it a day.

  7. I rather see JLA than that garbage of batman vs. superman!  Superman and Batman are friends in the real comics books and jlu& jla series show that they both will throw a bullet for eachother  so seeing fight will not make me go to the movies to see it!! That is why jla should be made because it will bring more millions than batman vs. superman ever be made.  Each character has is unique for example batman is determine & smart but superman is kind & strong.  That is why I strongly oppose to the idea of Superman vs. Batman.  WarnerBrothers should make JLA the movie!! A lot of my friends can’t wait to see the JLA movie.
