HUNTER PREY looks fun!

I’m betting I’m not the only one who has been itching to see Sandy Collora (the guy who gave us what was until last year, the greatest depiction of The Joker in film history with the short movie Batman: Dead End) make a full length feature film, and I’m delighted to see his Indie sci-fi movie Hunter Prey is nearing a release.

I love these news photo’s that have been released for the film. It looks part Star Wars, part Battlestar Galatica, even part Halo and has that 70′s sci-fi feeling that modern day movies the genre just hasn’t aimed for recently. Not even Battlestar Galatica (the t.v. show) wanted to look like Battlestar Galatica.

Then again, I would say that because I love costume soldier geek movies. If such a genre exists. Rocketeer, Masters of the Universe (love those centurions), Iron Man. Even Surburban Commando had them, kind of.

Hunter Prey follows a team of special forces commandos who must recapture an escaped alien prisoner after the military transport ship carrying it crashes on a desolate and hostile planet.

In an interview with Sci-Fi Scoop, Collora claims the special effects for the movie are shaping up…

“Phenomenal. I’m very pleased with all the Visual Effects for the film. Johnnie Semerad and his award winning team of artists have generated some truly stunning imagery that certainly elevates the film to another level.”

He expects the flick to be 100% complete by June and expects audiences to look past the low budget of the movie…

They’ll realize without any question, what we were trying to achieve here, and that we were pushing really hard for something that would transcend the usual type of genre movie you expect to see in this budget range.

The trailer for the movie will be premiere on I09 next week but we do have a new poster right now…
