Howard Shore composing THE HOBBIT

Howard Shore is the best composer in the business. His Academy Award winning score for the Lord of the Rings is one of cinema’s most iconic soundtracks, not just one note repeated like some epics, instead it grows, it diverts, it breathes and evolves.

Today I’m delighted to hear from AICN that Shore is involved in the return to Middle-Earth with The Hobbit and extremely encouraging is the news that he has been playing around with ideas since he finished his work on The Two Towers.

Just like Guillermo del Toro’s new artistic vision, it’s fascinating also to wonder just how different or how similar Shore’s score will end up being from what has been done before.

Speaking of del Toro, this will actually be Shore’s first ever collaboration with the director. Very cool!
