Weren’t impressed by the news that T.I. was being considered for the role of the John Stewart version of The Green Lantern?
How does this one sound?
There’s rumors on the web today that Tyrese Gibson, one of the stars of the TRANSFORMERS and a guy who is frequently linked with the role of LUKE CAGE, is in the running to play The Green Lantern in the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. It’s claimed he is just one of many names that Warners are mulling over in their offices right now.
But much better choice than T.I. from where I’m sitting. This guy has the build, has the presence and ya know… Green Lantern won’t be the main focus of this movie. Batman and Superman are the Kirk’s and Spocks if you will… the Lantern will be the Sulu.
Sure’s he’s no Bale but for a movie much more bothered about action than telling a serious story, I can go along with this guy.

It’s a good choice if you consider that this movie will be more action orientated as opposed to telling a serious story, it’s like you said Matt, he has the presense and I feel he would pull off the character well. Considering T.I. was being considered for this role I would much prefer Tyrese.
I really can’t believe anyone was seriously considering T.I. It sounds more like some studio wonk shooting off their uninformed mouth. Seems to be a lot of that going round, especially about this movie.
Tyrese is not my favorite actor. I CERTAINLY don’t want him to play Luke Cage –Terry Crews is my choice. But if Green Lantern is going to be black, then you could do worse than Tyrese. So he works.
You know, after shooting down the unfounded rumor that Jessica Biel was going to be Wonder Woman I’m starting to wonder if WB’s aggressively going to start making sure the word gets out about their casting against the folks who are hellbound against this film.
I hope they reconsider casting, (Matthew Fox as Superman etc) and focus more on a solid group with chemistry as a group and charisma as individuals. The kind of team you can build a franchise on. So far they at least are not making mistakes in casting. Though the rumors are bothersome.
Now if only they can get the script right.
am i the only guy that feels that this role is made for one man and one man only ‘Michael jai white”…..dude has the right build…..he has the skills because he’s a real fighter…..and he knows what he’s doing…..look him up the guy has a resume!!!
