Man, I really hope they get The Goon right.
The only way I can describe the project is if you imagine the seedy world hinted at in Who Framed Roger Rabbit but if it were made with the modern day sophisticated animated CGI and instead of Bugs Bunny and the WB clan – they have monsters, ghosts, vampires and the supernatural like from Hellboy.
A very early “in production” poster turned up for the project at Comic Con and can be seen below.
Extremely faithful it is to the source material and I think it’s just so God damn beautiful. David Fincher is producing the project right now, let’s hope he can be convinced to direct it.
What a slightly strange movement in cinema we are having right now. Spielberg doing CGI Tintin, Zemeckis doing CGI Christmas Carol, Burton doing CGI Alice in Wonderland and Fincher doing CGI Goon!
