Hitman Script Review – Encouraging News!

bloodmoney_0510.jpgThe folks over at Latino Review have just posted a script review to the eagerly anticipated (at least by me anyway) movie adaptation of the Hitman video game franchise. Here is a little of what they had to say about it…

“In the opening pre-credit sequence showing Agent 47 and his handiwork, he does not fire off a single round. His intended target, Bwana Obie, is in Africa and protected like an elder statesman. How Agent 47 executes his target, like he does in the games make you sit back and say – “Oh shit now that is cool”.

“The Hitman games are all about cleverness and the script is overwhelmingly clever and intelligent. That is the biggest thing the page-turner of a script has going for it, it’s cleverness and intelligence, hence why it gets an A”.

You may remember I posted an article a few weeks ago about this topic and I said this…

“If the script manages to keep the serious and tense tone of the game and not camp it up in any way, then this movie should be really good. The game was always very cinematical with a extremly intruging main character in Agent 47″.

And by the looks of this script review it sounds like my fears of the movie becoming “campy” or turning into a mindless action/assination movie, were unnecessary. My anticipation for this movie has just gone up a few notches!!!

Isn’t Vin Diesel playing hitman, though? This puts me off.

I think Vin Diesel has bags of potential as an actor. His small but well acted role in Saving Private Ryan shows he has great ability to put in a dramactic performance.

I would love to see him given a really well developed script and a deep character role.

He certainly has the look for Hitman too, I really think this movie could be great.

Vin Diesel would be interesting but I think there are other actors who would suit the character better.

I would of prefered Jason Statham. He has the same look, but could potentially be darker. Just take a look at the Transporter.
