Hilary Swank and her producing partner Molly Smith have acquired the rights to the best selling non-fction novel French Women Don’t Get Fat for their producing company Alcon Entertainment-based 2S Films.
Swank is also eying what will be a romantic comedy as a potential starring vehicle. The book to be adapted by Heather Hach (Freaky Friday) revolves around the manager of a champagne company who goes through some tough life lessons.
The non fiction book was first published in 2004 and is actually a book offering insights on how French women stay so remarkably slim even though they enjoy a lifestyle of calorie rich wines and pastries. The book sold well over 1 million copies in the U.S. (over 2 million worldwide) and topped the New York Times non-fiction bestsellers list.
Swank is currently filming the Amelia Earhart biopic alongside Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor for director Mira Nair. Her next project after that is currently unknown.
