Yesterday Matt announced that there will be a further 3 movies in the Terminator series. Today Moviehole have the heads up on the possibility that Arnold Schwarzenegger WILL feature in the movies… through the magic of CGI!
Halcyon, the studio behind the new movies, have said that Arnie has granted them permission to use his ‘likeness’ in the movies. Halycon’s Derek Anderson had this to say:
“We’ll be using computer altered stock images of Arnold. That way we can span his entire career, from the frightening 80’s era Terminator to the ice cool T2 version”
And that is not all! Schwarzenegger’s representive, Annabelle Gross is quoted as saying “He’s signed on as Executive Producer for all three pictures, and we are in talks for further appearance licenseing”.
It should be pointed out, however, that none of this is concrete and the Austrian hasn’t spoke out about any of this as of yet. It could be interesting seeing how this works out. Although I don’t want to see any more Terminator movies, I’d sure as hell love to see how this comes together if they used CGI Arnie!

yes! Even though I’m not really thrilled about a 4th Terminator, i’m glad to hear that arnold MAY at least be involved! That’s LOADS better than not having him involved at all….and i hope to god that we see an epic battle between likeness arnold terminator machines fighting against humans. i have to admit, i cant wait for that. and i hope they get rid of nick stahl. he was the worst thing about T3, next to claire danes and the female terminator. AND jonathan mostow, just horrible!
As far as im concerned T3 does not even exist. While im not opposed to seeing a second set of movies set in the war torn future (because this was the part I found most interesting about the series)I won’t shed any tears if they don’t happen either.
Same here, jury is still out for me on this one.
Given the choice between no more Terminator movies, and a CGI one… I know what I’m going for everytime. How long is it going to be until they CGI Laurence Olivier, Marlon Brando or Cary Grant for a whole movie.
What a scary thought.
