Although there wasn’t really much doubt, it’s now been confirmed by director Christopher Nolan that Harvey Dent will be in the The Dark Knight when it’s released in 2008. For those who don’t know (AND SLIGHT SPOILERS I GUESS) Harvey Dent eventually becomes the villain Two-Face (just happens to be my favourite villain in the comics).
Nolan confirmed the news when speaking to IGN FilmForce. Thanks to Coming Soon for the heads up…
…When we asked if District Attorney Harvey Dent – a.k.a. Batman’s future nemesis Two-Face – would indeed be in the film, Nolan replied, “I don’t want to go into too many specifics. Yes, he is.”
IGN caught up with Nolan as he was exiting the event and asked if Dent had been cast. “Not yet.” Would that actor be an American, an Aussie or a Brit? “You’ll see,” Nolan promised…
So we now just wait to see who Nolan decides to cast. My choice as you all know is Liev Schrieber but failing that I would go for Guy Pearce but I have a feeling that Nolan is going to go completely left field like with the Heath Ledger as Joker casting. I think it will be somebody that hasn’t really been mentioned yet.
It’s interesting aswell that Nolan confirmed Harvey Dent’s appearance in the movie but not that of Two-Face which again goes along with what we have been predicting, that he won’t be transformed into a villain until the very end of the second or beginning of the third movie.
I love it, the transformation of Harvey Dent into a bad guy is one of the best Batman stories there is, developing the character in the second movie then turning him into the biggest badass ever will make compelling viewing.
Folks, I have never been looking forward to a movie more than I am The Dark Knight (i guess not suprising, my anticipation for Batman Begins was off the charts).

Well we have already seen the transformation of Harvey Dent into Two Face, played by none other than Tommy Lee Jones … I thought he did a credible job with the role, considering the ridiculous direction in that third movie …LOL
I just hope this move captures some true darkness…
Actually I hated Harvey Dent portrayl in Batman Forever. The story wasn’t given 10% of it’s justice and Jones played the role as if it were the Joker rather than Two-Face.
We never saw “the turn” apart from a crappy flashback on screen and we never saw Harvey as the good district attorney that he once was.
And yes… this movie will show true darkness, of that im sure. Just look at the title.
