One thing’s for sure, it won’t be twenty years until we see another INDIANA JONES film with Harrison Ford as the whip cracking adventurer. It’s going to be soon, likely within the next four years, or never again with the aging star who at 66, can’t have that many years left in the tank to lead a summer tentpole spectacular.
Ford told The L.A. Times on Friday that Lucas was “in think mode” for a fifth INDY film, a movie that Spielberg, Lucas & Ford have continuously stated could be a possibility after the $783 million worldwide success of INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL this year.
“It’s crazy but great… we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it’s not surprising that some people want to do it again,” Ford said.
After being burned twice with Lucas and his reinventions of franchises, I’m not one to get excited about any future INDIANA JONES movies anymore. Which is a real shame because Harrison was great in KOTCS, he deserved better and I would love to pay to see the character again but never in such a flawed movie.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL is out on REGION FREE BLU-RAY from October 14th!

If they couldn’t come up with a decent story in the last 20 years, how are they gonna come up with something half decent to please all three camps in a couple of years????
They should have been making these films every couple of years,Harrison ford is getting too old for this shit surely? Mind you Seasick Steve just sold out the Royal Albert hall the other day, Maybe old vets are in vogue now!

Lucas is a cunt.
He’s just released the original trilogy on DVD…again. Nothing different, accept the packaging.
Cunt.

I despise that man.
Surely Spielberg’s had enough of this crap, right? He only has another decade of filmmaking in him (probably), so he surely wants to use it making his final masterpieces, right????
Right?!?!?
I can’t believe Spielberg would even want to further tarnish his magnificent directorial resume with another Lucas shill for more money.

[...] It is even worse for Pacino who has compounded the mistake of taking the big studio films in recent years and made 88 MINUTES, TWO FOR THE MONEY and GIGLI, where as De Niro has appeared in the critically acclaimed STARDUST, the commercially successful MEET THE FOCKERS and his self directed film THE GOOD SHEPPARD. I would mention Liam Neeson at this point, listing his recent movies in terms of success and failure, however TAKEN has left me so aghast as possibly the worst film of all time, that I refuse on principal to mention him from this point onwards and I think I speak for many when I say that frankly INDIANA JONES left us all with a slightly empty feeling (the constricting sensation in my stomach at the news that Lucas is even thinking of an ‘Indy V’ still hasn’t gone away).
