Hard to imagine anyone else as INDIANA JONES

You know for a long time I thought Harrison Ford was at least a decade too old to play Indiana Jones again on screen. I think it was his turn as an aged U.S. President in AIR FORCE ONE ten years ago that I noticed time had started to catch up with him.

But my God, do these images take me back. Harrison looks great!

Just look at this first image below. You really can’t imagine anyone else as Indiana Jones…

Word has spread for a while that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are possibly eyeing Shia LaBeouf as being the actor to carry on the series for future films, with possibly Harrison making a cameo here and there.

I have been impressed by Shia this year, he’s done a pretty decent job carrying both DISTURBIA and TRANSFORMERS (shining light in the film for me) but I keep forgetting he is in this movie. And John Hurt. And Ray Winstone. And Jim Broadbent. And Karen Allen. And CATE BLANCHETT!

But of course it’s Indy we are paying our money to see and his return here is a huge deal. There’s not that many characters who could make a return after so long absent and get as many asses in seats as Harrison will next year.

Now where’s that trailer we were promised?

Hard to imagine ANYONE as INDY. And it’s IMPOSSIBLE to imagine She-male LeBoof as Indy.

My choice for Indy’s successor would be Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer on LOST. Either him or Nathan Fillion, though Nathan would need a LOT more polishing before he’s ready for the whip and hat.

My pic has always been Nathan Fillion. He’s got it down and he’s good. Damn good. If LeBoof were to take over the franchise, I would have no interest in watching it. Nothing personal, but just wouldn’t be my thing.

Now Fillion with the whip? I’m all in! Reboot this dawg!

First of all, Harrison Ford is THE man. He looks great for the part now, and even I felt a little nervous before.
But if there’s no Harrison Ford, i don’t see the point in rebooting the Indiana Jones series. I know there’s a lot of potential money to be made from the franchise, but I just could not be able to watch an Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford as the lead(and a heck of a lot people agree)
I know what you’re thinking…”they did it with james bond, why can’t they do it here?” Obviously James Bond is different because it became a kind of generational role, James Bond character is one that has been so well-handled through the ages, it could honestly go on forever. Indiana Jones on the other hand…so what if this nathan fillion or josh holloway took over the role of indiana jones? It would just become another run of the mill spin off series that all it aims to do is make money.
At the most, having a new guy would just be a half-decent return as indiana jones, and then the sequel made in haste after, would suck. And be sure that if there’s no Harrison Ford, none of the original people(like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg) will return….

No Harrison Ford, no Indiana Jones. Full stop.

Anyway, Mr. Ford still looks the part. I’m excited; Bring on the bullwhippin’ action…

Losing Lucas isn’t a bad thing, that would be a good thing. And as for Ford, one more is OK. This has to be it though. And I was referring to them continuing on. If they decide to milk this for what it’s worth, then bring in Fillion. He’s the only one that will work, in my opinion. He’s got flair, style and that rough edge the Ford has. He’s my first pick.

And we haven’t seen this flick yet. IT might be the run of the mill flick. We’ll have to wait and see.

But after this, personally, quit. Stop. Move on. But if they are going to Fillion in! Lucas out.
