Will Smith’s depressed, alcoholic, probably suicidal superhero John Hancock doesn’t just dress like a bum in this summer’s blockbuster movie, we also get to see him in costume.
The only problem is Peter Berg and his costume designing crew are about ten years behind with this design. It’s pretty much identical to the “X-Men real world design” that none of us were too kean on in 2000.
Our first look at HANCOCK in Uniform is below, followed by an image of Cyclops from X-MEN to show you the similarity. This one hits on the first weekend of July worldwide.

Bland. He looks more like a race car driver than a superhero. If Hancock is a comedy semi-parody, then the costume should have been bolder and more superhero-like. Go the full distance with primary colors and useless cape.

Agreed.
Why studio’s aren’t daring enough to go with an original translation of the superhero costume I don’t know.

Maybe part of his depression is the fact that he has such a lame costume…

Other than the color it looks nothing like X-Men. Even if you think it does, like Will said in Men In Black, “I make this look good.”
Hope the movie looks as good as the costme.
