I’ve never heard of ‘pushing’ as a pick-up technique but I’ve certainly seen people try it and I think in the end we all kinda make up a persona about ourselves when we are talking to a member of the opposite sex we are attracted to for the first time.
That’s pretty much the premise behind a new movie from director Mark Teitelman and Gold Circle Productions.
Written by Law and Order scribe Sonny Postiglione, the movie titled The Push will follow a group of New York guys who try this technique to create their image of a wonderful guy until one of them meets their match when he fails to pick up an uttainable and extremely strong willed beauty.
I know this isn’t the sort of movie to usually get excited about but I kinda like this simple premise. It almost reminds me of a Bill Murray comedy, where he tries so hard to get the women he wants and will go to great lengths to impress her but in the end she ain’t budging. Or maybe I’m just thinking of Groundhog Day.
A January start date is planned for the movie with casting taking place right now says The Hollywood Reporter. This has a chance, depending on what direction they plan to take the film in.
