Guillermo “didn’t like Hobbits”

The internet can really come back and bite you in the ass sometimes.

It happened to poor Rob Zombie when he mentioned in an interview once that remakes were; “the worst thing that any filmmaker can do… your only going to make yourself look like an asshole”, to then only a few years later finding himself working on a redo of one of the most popular Horror movies of all time.

So basically, he admits he’s an asshole.

Now it’s happened to Guillermo del Toro who as recently as May 2006, told the world he didn’t like those small guys with hairy feet…

I was never into heroic fantasy. At all. I don’t like little guys and dragons, hairy feet, hobbits — I’ve never been into that at all. I don’t like sword and sorcery, I hate all that stuff.

C.S. Lewis was another thing. I really enjoyed him as a kid, but he’s too Catholic for me. It’s not something as an adult I can feel comfortable relating to.

Oops!

Hahaha, good one…I’m still happy to see him making the movie. He’s the best choice even if he dislikes Hobbits.

The Glove speaks, and it makes so much sense.

Yeah, because “Hellboy” and “Pan’s Labyrinth” don’t have any of that stuff in them… :-|
